For the past 150 years, the Rocky Mountain News has championed the City of Denver, State of Colorado, the Rocky Mountain Region and beyond. The Rocky was the first daily published in the City, and my morning companion. Unfortunately, today is the last morning I will get to share my breakfast with it. Like many of you, I have been a champion of the Rocky brand.

Many newspapers around the world, including the Rocky Mountain News have reached their last run. The fact that most people now get the news they need and want instantaneously online, the rapid decline of traditional advertising like the want ads and the global recalibration of the economy, very few cities can support two dailies.
