Yesterday I saw that Ward Churchill and William Ayers will appear together next month at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Apparently Ayers is going to be there on March 5 as a show of support for Ward Churchill, a few days before Churchill's lawsuit against said University goes to trial.
Many times we have seen two brands combine efforts for socially responsible projects, the Olympic Games and other causes or events. Some times these co-branding attempts make perfect sense when the organization core values are in alignment. Other times we have seen co-branding that dilutes the brands because their core values do not align.
What about this situation? Do the Churchill brand and Ayers brand align? Is this a marriage made in heaven, or are we in for a train wreck? Both have their legion of brand champions, and both have many detractors.
