Brand Champion of the Day- Chick-fil-A

ChickFilA

Unfortunately many brands are in a downward spiral, just like the economy has been. Chick-fil-A is going in the opposite direction, fast! In fact, this 63-year-old family-owned business has plans to open 64 new restaurants in the next year, including 11 percent in my state of Colorado. Depending on your take, that is a brand in recession!

Those of you who know me understand that I am not often a fan of traditional advertising like television, radio and print. For me those are expensive, quick-fix, difficulty to measure solutions. I consider social media like blogs, twitter, facebook and others to be engaging. However there are times traditional marketing channels are the right choice, especially when they are utilized to create awareness and support the brand's mission and core values. I must admit the Chick-fil-A Cows campaign has been a hit. Creating animated cows as brand champions, and encouraging us to eat more chicken is quite interesting and sustainable.

I can count on one, maybe both hands, the number of times I have eaten at a Chick-fil-A. But, I have been a brand champion for many years, and remain one today. For your efforts, Chick-fil-A, you are the Brand Champion of the Day!
