Last year I joined the board of directors for the Colorado Chapter of the American Marketing Association. At that time I had the pleasure of being introduced to Sally Mayberry, who was then the president-elect for the association. Right away Sally struck me as a progressive thinker and someone who understood the value of a brand. Over the course of the past year I have had the opportunity to see Sally in action. My initial instincts were correct. It is my pleasure to feature her as the Brand Champion of the Day. Here is what Sally says about being a brand champion.
"I think that there are two critical ingredients to being a brand champion. They are passion and drive. Passion drives the authenticity of the brand and allows others to believe in it, and without drive you won’t accomplish anything.
"I love marketing. I love how it’s always evolving and the constant challenge to educate others on the impact marketing can have. Because of my love for marketing I was naturally drawn to the Colorado American Marketing Association (CoAMA). I’ve been a member for nearly 10 years now and I have learned that CoAMA is a reliable marketing resource. All throughout my marketing career, I’ve been able to engage with CoAMA through events and volunteer opportunities. It is a place where I can recharge with fellow practitioners. This and more is what lead me to pursue applying my passion of marketing to the CoAMA brand.
"My passion for CoAMA is driven by delivering on the chapter’s brand positioning platform which we developed just last year - to connect Colorado's marketing community. I enjoy having the opportunity to deliver programs around emerging marketing trends and connecting the right people only to see their careers thrive. I am driven by the opportunity to see others succeed in reaching and accomplishing their goals.
